How to
How to give franchise managers their own training dashboard
Stop being the rollup-data middleman. Set up scoped Admin roles, configure the manager dashboard, and let franchise managers self-serve their own location data.
Step-by-step
Define the scoped Admin role
From HQ Settings → Roles, configure the franchise-manager role with Admin permissions scoped to their location(s). Permissions to grant: view roster, assign HQ-published courses, view completion data, export reports. Permissions to withhold: edit HQ courses, modify network-wide settings, see other locations' data. Aristotl's scoped access model enforces scope automatically.
Invite each franchise manager to their scope
From Locations, click into each location and add the franchise manager as scoped Admin via email invite. They receive a welcome with a one-click activation link. On first login they see only their location's roster, course assignments, and completion data - same dashboard surface as HQ, just scoped. No training session required to onboard them.
Configure the manager-facing dashboard layout
From dashboard settings, choose which widgets surface for franchise managers: completion-by-course, at-risk-learner list, upcoming deadlines, quiz-score heatmap. Hide HQ-only widgets (network rollup, cross-location comparison). Most managers care most about: who's behind, what's due, what's tomorrow. Set those as the top three widgets. They can customize their own layout from there.
Run the first weekly self-serve cycle
Stop sending the weekly status email. Instead, on Monday tell franchise managers to open their dashboard, review at-risk learners, and act. By Friday, HQ checks the network rollup to see which locations actually moved the needle. The dashboard replaces the rollup email entirely; HQ shifts from data-pusher to escalation-only. Most managers prefer this - they get the data sooner.
